Hello! I’m Michelle

Just a girl seeking new experiences and out here encouraging others to do the same

For a lot of my life, my focus was on school. “Focus on your studies and do the fun things afterwards” was a mantra I was bought up with. I was in plenty of school extra-curriculars, don’t get me wrong- but I couldn’t do everything I wanted.

And so that’s how I lived my life. At the start of my final year of undergrad, I decided that once a week I’ll try something new on campus; a new sport, a different restaurant, a small gig. And then COVID hit and I got to finish my semester and graduate sitting at home and not really doing anything like I planned.

Around this this time I read a book called “They Both Die at the End” by Adam Silvera. The concept is simple; on the day of your death, you get a phone call, informing you that you will die at some point in the next 24 hours. The book details the final day of the two protagonists, and all the living they manage to squeeze into their final 20 or so hours.

To say this book changed me is an understatement. I resolved to not say no to things, and try everything at least once. But we’re in a cost of living crisis; trying everything is not cheap.

So, I have created this blog. I am going to talk about the activities I tried (or want to try), and I will detail ways to bring down the cost of trying them once. And then if it’s something that I can pursue further, I’ll talk about the costs of trying them twice (or more).

Make friends, get involved, and try it once (or twice)!
