Want to destress? Think back to when times were simpler? This is the perfect pastime for you.

Finals season is upon us, and I am a university student drowing under deadlines. However near enough everyday, the office of Student Wellness at Hofstra has been putting together little activities that are doable in between classes, and while I have the time, I stop and do them.

They just tend to be simple little kids craft kits, but there is no better joy on this earth than just creating a little thing that you then get to keep. A little thing to fidget with, or stick on the shelf. Everyone should experience the joy of creating little things. Anyways, here's my highlights of finals week;

A painting on a bunch of stapled paper, a suncatcher, and a little squishy stone made of foam clay. Joyous!

I highly recommend making stuff for the joy of it- especially during times of high stress. I also started getting supplies to do my own little stuff like this too; like these bracelets I'm making for a pilgrimage group over the summer, and this little scratch art thing I got from a dollar store

Try it Once or Twice?

Try it and keep doing it. It's the pure, simple joy of creation. Treasure it.

Cost: minimal- hit up the kids section in budget stores

Tries: multiple

Recommend: if you want to destress and just have fun
